Position Description:
Positions in this function is maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports, prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles and preparation of documentation in support of external and internal audits.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform P&L analysis of Monthly Capitation to Providers
- Conducting research on expenses, receivables and payables related to medical services
- Booking of close related journal entries based on monthly Capitation activity, provider incentive programs and claims pools
- Booking payment vouchers based upon the current month membership for each state or health care provider
- Analyzing trends of accruals vs. the payments booked and work with business teams to true up the numbers wherever required
- Completing financial reporting, general ledgers and journal entries (mostly re-class JEs)
- Analyzing medical costs, balance sheet account and memberships trends
- Working with month-end close activities
- Account reconciliation and flux analysis
- Preparation of internal and external audit support documentation
- Engaging in various system projects
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or master’s in accounting – B. Com or M. Com or CA Inter
- End user experience in Access database
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, Access and MS Word
- Proven effective communication skills
- Proven eye for detail and quick learning abilities
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers to complete projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Health care experience
- End user knowledge on MS Access database and Advanced skills on MS Excel
- Exposure to PeopleSoft, Oracle, Black line, Month end close knowledge
