JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

DUTIES: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties to include: work as a part of our core engineering team to ensure the highest standards of design, implementation, performance, and security; work closely with the product team to ensure all customer needs are met; design and build upcoming new features; support and extend existing features; participate in agile ceremonies, including daily stand ups and sprint retrospectives, contribute to team planning and improvement processes; review requirements and develop technical solutions to meet requirements; estimate project deliverables; assist in the development and maintenance of REST APIs using different Java Frameworks, ensuring to best practices in API design; work with data providers and API consumers to clarify requirements and remove roadblocks; provide innovative solutions to technical challenges; build and deploy framework components to achieve automated testing goals for the team; drive automation into everyday activities and deliver high quality high performing solutions; participate in peer code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing sessions; write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability; utilize cloud platforms (like AWS) for deploying and maintaining applications. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.  

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Software Engineer-related occupation. 

RATE OF PAY:  $106,579 – $155,295  per year
