We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Operations Engineer with hands-on experience in Unix, Linux, Windows, and VMware-based systems. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of system provisioning and decommissioning, along with basic knowledge of databases and networking concepts. This role requires a proactive system administrator with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing IT infrastructure in a dynamic and enterprise-grade environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day system administration tasks across Unix/Linux/Windows platforms
  • Manage and maintain VMware-based virtual infrastructure, including provisioning and decommissioning of virtual machines
  • Coordinate and execute provisioning, configuration, patching, and decommissioning activities in accordance with organizational standards
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security
  • Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and virtualization-related issues
  • Assist with basic database administration tasks such as user management, backup scheduling, and health checks
  • Perform basic networking tasks including IP configuration, connectivity checks, and firewall rule validation
  • Maintain and update technical documentation related to infrastructure operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for incident resolution and change implementation
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and security standards
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in system administration or infrastructure operations
  • Experience with system provisioning and decommissioning processes
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments
  • Solid knowledge of VMware ESXi/ vSphere platforms
  • Basic understanding of databases (SQL/MySQL/Oracle)
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)
  • Familiarity with ticketing and monitoring tools
  • Solid problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment (rotational shifts if applicable)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as RHCSA, MCSA, VMware VCP, or similar
  • Experience in automation/scripting using Shell, PowerShell, or Python
  • Exposure to ITIL practices and change management
