This position is full time (40hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 9:00pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

   

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve all interactions on the first call/chat/email, customer service inquires and issues by identifying the topic and type of assistance the caller needs such as benefits, eligibility and claims, financial spending accounts and correspondence
  • Educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven health care, guiding them on topics such as selecting the best benefit plan options, maximizing the value of their health plan benefits and choosing a quality care provider
  • Contact care providers (doctor’s offices) on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance
  • Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other UnitedHealth Group websites while encouraging and guiding them towards becoming self-sufficient in using these tools
  • Contact care providers (doctor’s offices) on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance.
  • Contact care providers, and members to obtain supporting documentation and provide benefit breakdowns.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • 18 years of age OR older
  • 6+ months of customer Service experience in a call center environment or high paced environment.
  • Bilingual Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Experience with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications.
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 9:00pm EST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health Care/Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design)
  • Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion and behavior change, (working with vulnerable populations)
  • Sales or account management experience
  • Familiarity with CDT codes, claims processing, and insurance verification

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within EST, CST or MST.
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $16.00 – $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
