As a Technical Product Manager at Optum, your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the product delivery process to ensure alignment with customer expectations. You will work in collaboration with the UAT Team, Product Management, Engineering, Automation Testing, and Release Engineering (DevOps) Teams to ensure that Optum Banking/Financials products are tested and delivered according to the highest quality testing standards available within the organization, and in a timely manner. In this significant role, you may also participate in the development and establishment of our policies, standards, and procedures.

 

As a Technical Product Manager, you will act as the primary authority on the product’s delivery and will closely collaborate with all teams to ensure the success of the release. Furthermore, you will be tasked with managing the automated test suit and working with automation testing team. You will be the expert regarding the overall capabilities of the product and will work closely with the development team to successfully launch the product. Ultimately, your goal will be to achieve customer satisfaction and improve the Net Promoter Score (NPS).

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The specific responsibilities include, but not limited to the following are:

    • This Technical Product Manager shall work closely with onsite & offshore teams for the requirements analysis & solutions design

    • The Technical Product Manager shall interface with the engineering team to assess capabilities and alternatives and own the definition and prioritization of product releases

    • The Technical Product Manager shall be a domain specialist, capability of understanding the existing workflows within and outside the application (Banking Finance Landscape)

    • The Technical Product Manager performs the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Quality Assurance

      • Analyze and decompose business requirements to extract test requirements

      • Developing / implementing / executing effective test plans and test cases

      • Testing of system requirements and enhancements and/or fixes

      • Analyzing data, researching & troubleshooting issues to define root cause and providing results

      • Logging & tracking defects to closure

      • Monitoring, measuring and communicating test results

      • Help ensure new system requirements/enhancements/changes are tested thoroughly, accurately and delivered in a timely manner

    • The Technical Product Manager shall create and prepare UAT documentation, communication, and process workflow

    • The Technical Product Manager shall provide consistent and repeatable testing process for UAT; may work with business analysts /Product Manager to execute test scenarios

    • The Technical Product Manager shall work closely with the Project Team to identify risks early

    • The Technical Product Manager shall create and maintain documentation, communication, and process workflow

    • Other tasks may include supporting other project testing as needed, running reports and pulling data from the Enterprise Applications (Optum Fin/ Optum Banking) system for audits on banking/ financial/claims data, making recommendations to the development team to improve the system and using query language to create the reports from various relational databases

    • The Technical Product Manager shall have astute Project management skills – manage multiple priorities

    • The Technical Product Manager shall create release notes, demo scripts, conduct feature demos for stakeholders, and conduct product demos for stakeholders/clients

  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • MBA/MCA/BE/B.Tech/MTech/MSc Computer Science (with BSc Computer Science), BDS with MBA and sound knowledge of Business Analyst/Product Owner.
  • 5+ years experience in Software Industry as product owner, business analyst and Sr. Technical Product Manager
    Astute logical reasoning & and effective communication skills
  • Skillset:
    • Experience in User Acceptance/QA testing experience for enterprise-level applications, including writing test cases from business requirements and executing / validating test results
    • Experience of performing business processes and data analysis
    • Experience with developing process documentation and process improvement workflow
    • Technical Product Manager should be well versed with Enterprise Application workflow, Platforms, and API Orchestration system
    • Extensive knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry/banking/ Financial services and technical stacks
    • Proficient knowledge of workflow, process enhancement, benchmarking, and/or assessment of enterprise processes
    • Adept at JIRA/Rally and AHA and Databases (Eg. SQL Queries)
    • Ability to understand and clearly articulate business and system functionality requirements and / OR process flows as it relates to test cases and test results

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • US Healthcare /Finance/Banking experience would be an added advantage for the position
