We are looking for passionate Sr. AI/ML Engineers who can design and implement cutting-edge AI/machine learning solutions for real-world healthcare challenges. As the AI/ML Engineer, you will tackle complex challenges by designing, building, training, and optimizing AI models, experimenting with cutting-edge algorithms, and driving innovative solutions that improve healthcare outcomes and efficiency.

 

This AI/ML role involves developing solutions to prevent fraud, abuse, and waste in healthcare transactions. Key duties include designing and evaluating analytics & AI models to detect abnormal claims, creating prevention strategies, and ensuring fairness and transparency in healthcare payment systems. The candidate will contribute to innovative products that offer real value to users.

 

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement analytics or AI/ML solutions for FAW prevention, with additional opportunities to work on projects like revenue cycle management, automated medical coding, payment adjudication, and image analysis
  • Collaborate with business and operations teams to translate complex requirements into actionable AI solutions and clearly communicate insights to leadership and stakeholders
  • Design, train, and deploy ML models into production using techniques such as generative AI/LLMs, NLP/NLU, computer vision, deep learning, etc.
  • Work with large-scale data and distributed computing frameworks to process and analyze high-volume healthcare datasets efficiently
  • Apply advanced methodologies in statistics, optimization, probability theory, and machine learning to build tools, perform rigorous analysis, and deliver robust solutions using Python or similar languages
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement scalable, flexible pipelines that bring AI innovations into real-world products
  • Adapt to an agile, fast-paced environment, and maintain a passion for exploring and integrating cutting-edge AI technologies to support future projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Math/Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Bioinformatics, or another technical field that provides strong mathematical training
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with at least one programing language, such as Java, Python, PySpark, or SQL
  • 5+ years’ experience detecting fraud in healthcare, banking, or security by applying deep analytics to structured and unstructured data. Skilled at extracting signals using pattern recognition, NLP, imaging, and related technologies
  • Have a proven track record of developing and deploying models in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Demonstrate the ability to independently initiate and drive projects from conception through to completion
  • Proven  effectively communicate technical concepts/results to both technical and non-technical audiences

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Math/Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Bioinformatics, or another technical field

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
