Sr. Director, Security Enablement and Technology is responsible for building and establishing an organization dedicated to protecting our people, product, and brand using a risk-based methodology, and by unlocking best in class Security Technology. This role will be responsible for supporting all global UHG businesses, over 4600+ unique properties, and approx. 400,000 employees. This role will be responsible for developing company programs, policies, and controls to deliver best in class business enablement through a flexible security model that meets our business needs. This leader will facilitate an agile Security Technology focus that allows improved integration and support through our Global Security Operations Center. This leader will need to partner with Sr. business leaders, actively participate in the mergers and acquisition process to ensure proper safeguarding. This position will provide coaching, mentoring, and support in development of staff across multiple business functions to drive a highly engaged team. This role will require close partnership and collaboration across business and industry segments including: Real-estate, Legal, Technology, Compliance, ESRO cross function teams, business segment sr. leaders, Accounting, Loss Prevention, and our People team amongst many other teams.
Success of this role will entail the ability to quickly analyze and assess opportunities for improvement. Optimizing business collaboration by bringing to life a strategy of continuous improvement, and leadership to help design/adjust the organization structure to support current and future business needs will be required in our fluid and vastly growing business model.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and build a risk-based approach to enhance security standards across our UHG businesses. This will require a flexible model, that includes many factors such as CAP scores, Asset Cost, Team Member population, and incident trends as an example
- Lead the strategy for enhancing the security culture integration and active participation through Mergers and Acquisitions
- Coach and mentor traditional Security Technology and Security Compliance teams in this new and evolved organization
- Establish an operating rhythm to maintain compliance around security audits to ensure business sustainability
- Lead innovation and marketing across our Security Technology, partner closely with Communication Teams to proactively lead corporate messaging
- Manage key contract relationships with security installers such as Convergint and CBRE
- Produce key metrics that help define Security needs and measures of success. Monitor trends and threats to anticipate emerging risks and adjust strategies accordingly
- Serve as the primary liaison/Executive sponsor of Security Technology and Integration across all key business stakeholders
- Foster a team environment that sets high standards of performance, engages and inspires others to perform at their best, rigorously identifies and develops key individuals with the critical capabilities needed by the organization
- Lead, model, and influence behaviors that support UHG’s cultural values, employee engagement, teamwork and collaboration, diversity and inclusion, and doing your life’s best work SM
- Partner with Human Capital on employee issues/concerns, consistent application and adherence of policies, hiring, talent planning, promotions, corrective action, termination, IDRs, and other employee relations

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of operational experience leading teams across complex industries
- Product experience standing up products in security or healthcare bringing to scale and deploying across enterprises
- Demonstrated ability leading direct reports and manage HR accountabilities in a multiple functions departments across business units globally
- Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders and stakeholders across the organization, including those without direct reporting lines
- Demonstrated executive-level communication and presentation experience. Ability to synchronize storytelling across channels and leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Six Sigma Black or Green Belt
- Experience with marketing, particularly in launching internal campaigns or preparing products for external markets
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions
- Experience leading in a highly regulated industry
- Familiarity with Security technology, asset protection, or loss prevention experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $156,400 to $268,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
