The Workforce Strategy Analyst will play a critical role in the execution of vendor management initiatives and workforce reporting. This role will serve as a strategic partner in driving data-informed decision-making, optimizing vendor operations, and delivering actionable workforce insights to leadership and stakeholders across Optum Technology. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for operational excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

If you are located in Eden Prairie, MN, you will have the flexibility to work remotely*, as well as work in the office three days per week as you take on some tough challenges. If you are located outside of Eden Prairie, MN, you will enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of labor vendor management processes
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement to ensure contract compliance and operational alignment
  • Design and maintain dashboards that provide visibility into workforce composition, vendor utilization, vendor performance, and key performance indicators
  • Partner with finance, HR, and technology teams to align workforce data with strategic goals
  • Conduct workforce trend analysis and forecasting to support planning and decision-making
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences
  • Identify and implement tools and best practices to improve vendor and workforce reporting processes
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures and documentation for workforce analytics and vendor operations
  • Participate in enterprise-wide initiatives such as contractor conversion, time tracking adherence, and vendor metric standardization
  • Serve as a liaison between workforce teams and leadership to ensure alignment on strategic priorities

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in workforce analytics, vendor operations, or program coordination in a matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to support cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders across finance, procurement, and technology teams
  • Proven experience preparing executive-ready materials and reports, demonstrating solid written and verbal communication skills,
  • Proficient experience in Excel (including pivot tables and formulas) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience supporting labor vendor management processes, including sourcing, contracting, and performance tracking
  • Familiarity with vendor management systems (e.g., Fieldglass) and workforce planning tools
  • Understanding of workforce strategy, talent planning, and reporting best practices
  • Exposure to contract models such as time & materials, outcome-based agreements
  • Knowledge of the healthcare or technology industry, particularly in workforce or vendor contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation by streamlining workflows and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Proven experience evaluating emerging trends to drive continuous improvement and strategic innovation.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
