UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Marketing Research Consultant to join our team. This position will contribute to our Strategic Insights team, which has an increasingly important leadership role in driving growth for UnitedHealth Group and enabling our mission to help people live healthier lives and help the health system work better for everyone.
This position will report to Optum’s Senior Director of Optum Rx, Financial and Insight NPS and is responsible for customer experience measurement and NPS programs across Optum Financial. This role will support the vision and execution of NPS programs, evolving reporting through collaboration, and communicating insights to all levels of Optum leadership.
This position is full-time Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 4-8 weeks on-the-job training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday – Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic design, execution, and storytelling of Net Promoter Score (NPS) programs across Optum Financial Consumer, ensuring insights are actionable and aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, executive leaders, and vendors to develop and execute research plans that effectively address the needs of Optum Financial teams.
- Lead competitive NPS survey competitive NPS survey for Consumer, including deep dive reporting with key cohorts.
- Lead end-to-end sample strategy and execution, including sourcing, hygiene, exclusions, and governance, to maintain data integrity and representativeness.
- Leverage data-driven insights to identify customer needs and opportunities to enhance customer experience, while fostering strong collaboration with the Optum CX and Data & Analytics Activation teams to translate insights into actionable business strategies.
- Synthesize data and findings from various sources to uncover stories and concisely communicate findings to drive change throughout the organization.
- Craft executive-level narratives, leveraging storytelling abilities with brevity and clarity.
- Effectively present consumer-centric insights to diverse audiences with a focus on clarity, impact, and actionable recommendations.
- Respond to requests for ad hoc analysis within short timeframes and an emphasis on exceptional quality.
- Optimize vendor partnerships to enhance reporting capabilities, streamline deliverables, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Effectively juggle multiple projects, deliverables, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while ensuring reporting is accurate and easy to digest.
- Contribute to the success of a strong strategic insights group as a collaborative team member.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 6+ years leading primary marketing research projects
- 3+ years of experience analyzing data
- 1+ years of experience with NPS research
- Ability to work in the Eden Prairie, MN office 4 days weekly

Telecommuting Requirements:
- Reside within commutable distance to the office at 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN.
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 – $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
