This role is responsible for managing critical accounting processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting accurate financial reporting. The position requires independence, solid problem-solving skills, statutory reporting, and the ability to handle audit challenges confidently while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review statutory reports like Schedule T for multiple states
  • Assist with cash cut-off audits and preparation of Schedule S for compliance
  • Process premium assessment payments for Multiple States
  • Record premium assessment accruals and annual NOLHGA entries
  • Manage accrual entries for regulatory fees, financial regulation fees, and HIP assessments
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for GRIC and ASIC entities
  • Process ad-hoc reclassification entries as required
  • Prepare true-up files and validate data accuracy for internal and external stakeholders
  • Work independently to manage tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Accept and address audit challenges proactively, ensuring compliance and transparency
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Role Decisions & Impact

  • Provide Schedule T financials to Tax department  for multiple States
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
  • Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
  • Prepare documentation in support of external audits
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
  • Assist with or Lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses 
  • Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent 
  • 7+ years of professional accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Proven ability to assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Proven ability to identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Proven ability to solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post graduation in accounting / Finance or its equivalent
  • Healthcare experience in Finance and Accounting
  • Work experience on GL
  • Good experience on Excel
