As our Principal Data Analyst, you will join an established Product team within OptumRx responsible for delivering external facing Pharmacy Data Services. You will provide analytics and insights related to prescription conversion across the 5 Optum owned pharmacy network.
Within the role, you will build relationships with our partners across many functions, including Network Relations, Pharmacy Operations and Clinical.
We’re looking for someone with a quantitative mindset, a solid aptitude for complex problem solving and process improvement with well-developed communication and technical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
- This role is an individual contributor position
- Driving analytical projects, from ideation to product
- Actively consult with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure appropriate business content is incorporated into analytic approaches. Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
- Rapidly develop new insights and iterate upon those insights to drive business decisions
- Create annotated Data Bricks code and documentation describing analytics methodologies, data product designs using layman’s terms that will serve as the documented technical requirements for IT partners to scale and productionize analytics solutions
- Efficiently deliver on ad-hoc analysis requests from a wide range of stakeholders as required

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in discipline with solid analytical focus (analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering etc.)
- Proven SQL or Python data analysis experience
- Demonstrated ability to own solution delivery with solid organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Proven solid analytical skills including the ability to understand complex problems, break them down into manageable components, and apply analytical techniques to find actionable solutions
- Ability to be comfortable analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data from disparate data sources
- Ability to have a quantitative mindset and ability to understand complex processes
- Proven experience in creating rapid prototypes (ETL, Analytics logic, ad-hoc analysis)
- Proven solid communication skills, able to work with stakeholders from multiple levels and disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven MS Azure & Machine Learning experience
- Proven work experience with FMCG, Pharma or any Retail experience
- Proven experience in delivering predictive and/or prescriptive analytics in an industry setting that yielded real business value
- Proven experience working in health informatics or within the healthcare industry or prior experience with Clinical data
