Senior I O Engineering Consultant – Cloud Engineer – Azure, AWS and GCP

Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with application teams to design and execute migrations from on‑premises or legacy hosting into Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Provide architectural guidance aligned to Well‑Architected pillars (security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and operational excellence)
- Help teams modernize workloads using cloud‑native services where appropriate
- Identify and mitigate migration risks related to security, availability, and cost
- Develop Infrastructure as Code and GitHub Action workflows to deploy cloud resources
- Utilize enterprise platform tools to provision and manage cloud resources
- Support day‑to‑day operations of public cloud environments, including on-call responsibilities and scheduled maintenance tasks
- Coordinate and execute high-quality planned changes without service impact
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across cloud environments
- Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitHub Action workflows
- Develop automation using Python and PowerShell to reduce toil
- Promote standardized, repeatable patterns for resource deployment
- Reduce configuration drift and improve environment consistency across dev, test, and prod
- Utilize Generative AI tools to improve development and operational efficiency
- Embed security best practices into cloud designs (identity, networking, encryption, secrets management)
- Strictly enforce enterprise security and compliance rules governing public cloud technologies.
- Identify and remediate cloud vulnerabilities within expected SLAs
- Partner with security teams to meet enterprise security and compliance requirements
- Identify and execute on cloud cost optimization opportunities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to application teams adopting public cloud
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to shared documentation and playbooks
- Stay current on enterprise cloud platforms, tooling, and patterns
- Stay current on public cloud services, tooling, and industry best practices
- Committed to developing mastery in public cloud and AI technologies

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- 8+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or platform operations.
- Solid production experience with at least two of the following: Azure, AWS, GCP.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and security fundamentals.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
- Demonstrated automation skills using Python.
- Proficiency with cloud CLI interfaces.
- Practical experience applying SRE concepts in real‑world environments.
- Experience supporting or operating mission‑critical production workloads.
- Experience applying Gen AI tools and technologies to cloud operations work.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) complex technical concepts clearly to technical and business partners.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and perform off-hours maintenance work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certification in public cloud technologies (i.e. Azure Solutions Architecture Expert).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and Git‑based development workflows.
- Experience with Splunk and creating alerts, reports, and dashboards.
- Familiarity with container platforms and orchestration (e.g., AKS).
- Background in cost optimization, FinOps, or cloud financial management.
- Healthcare or regulated‑industry experience.
