JOB TITLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION: 4425 E Cotton Center Blvd Phoenix, AZ 85040

DUTIES: Support many aspects of the automated and semi-automated mail-order pharmacy fulfillment operations and projects, with emphasis in mechanical/mechatronics focused projects. This includes mechanical design using, drawing creations, various documentation creation, rapid prototyping using additive manufacturing, concept prove out, validation testing, pharmacy automation technologies research/feasibility assessment, and integration of production equipment and processes. Provide technical support/guidance, and execution of development, and validation testing activities. Work with automated equipment and automation components such as: Input/output automation devices, pneumatics components, and various conveyors. Collaborate on innovative product development from conceptualize through manufacturing. Drive design meetings and present proposals to stakeholders and management. Utilize creative problem-solving skills during ideation of new product architectural concepts for sub subsystem and system level design. Work with cross functional teams, vendors/manufacturers, testing and validation teams on the complete life cycle of the project through product launch and implementation of subsequent product launch. Drive hands-on prototyping/validations of design and collaborative with broader teams to build, integrated, and test prototypes. Collaborate regularly with stakeholders and vendors on equipment design, equipment research and development. Robotics programing and applications. Troubleshoot and diagnose production equipment. Issue resolution and/or proposal for resolution. Interfacing with Operations and management on solutions. Position requires travel. May be assigned to various, unanticipated sites throughout U.S.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Mechanical Design Engineer related occupation. Position requires 2 years of experience in the following: 
• Design skillset such as SolidWorks design software. 
• Surface modeling, design for manufacturing and Structural design. 
• sheet metal design, BOM creation, fabrication and assembly drawings. 
• GD&T. 
• Design software such as AutoCAD and 2D layout. 
• Automation components such as programable controllers, input/output devices. 
• Electrical components such as 480vac motors, DC motors, electrical panels. 
• Robotics programming, 2D/3D machine vision and program 6-axis robots 
• Rapid prototyping with additive manufacturing. Prototyping and Concept prove outs.

RATE OF PAY:  $110,000 – $133,421/year
