With every role in the company, each position has a requirement for building quality into every output. The Technology Quality Function is reserved for those positions where Quality is the primary objective of the work delivered. Technology Quality roles will cover all primary quality activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver high quality products and services. These roles include, but are not limited to, strategy, planning, standards, process, policy, tools, engineering, assurance, management, metrics, research and development, automation, data preparation, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages and is accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors
  • Impact of work is most often at the local level
  • The Senior Software Engineer in Quality Engineering will work within Bind’s Data Engineering Platform to write automated tests (functional, integration, unit, data quality) in Python to ensure our ETL and data pipeline jobs deliver the expected output
  • Work within a delivery team to ensure Product Stories acceptance criteria is met by writing automated tests with Pytest – 20%
  • Develop test scenarios to analyze and compare data sources and targets in data pipelines – 20%
  • Test data pipeline workflows end to end: data loads, data structures, data transformations, and overall data quality – 20%
  • Ensure that data is delivered with the expected format, structure, and data transformations – 20%
  • Work with QE team to enhance and streamline code Share knowledge and experience with other QE members – 10%
  • Continually strive to improve DDLC, code, CI/CD, and engineering best practices – 10%
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment) The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering, mathematics, computer science, software development or other technical field, or relevant experience
  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and automation testing
  • 5+ years of experience with ETL and data pipeline testing
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Parquet, Delta Lake
  • Experience working in the Agile Development Framework
  • Proven ability to work with members of a team in different disciplines. 
  • Proven ability to proactively ask questions, and seek answers
  • Proven ability to work with remote staff
  • Willing or ability to be flexible in technologies and flexible in team assignments
  • Proven solid SQL skills
  • Proven excellent coding skills, preferably in Python
