This position is responsible for organizing programs and activities of the Office of Clinician Experience (OOCE) aimed at enhancing the overall experience for Optum WA and OR clinicians.  From hire to retire, the focus is to build the most effective strategies and programs to improve clinician engagement which is key to improving retention, recruitment, and organizational sustainability.  OOCE is dedicated to supporting clinicians throughout their careers starting with a strong onboarding experience, wellness focused programs and events to build collegial relationships and community.  This is a pivotal role for clinician retention by driving positive change, improving satisfaction, and fostering a supportive environment for our clinicians.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Supports OOCE Medical Director and Sr. Director to implement strategic initiatives to enhance the overall experience for clinicians

 

Program and Event Management:

  • Supports designing, implementing, and managing programs and events that focus on improving the clinician experience.  Includes all aspects of project management such as scoping, project plans, timelines, metrics, reporting dashboards, communications, stakeholder management, etc
  • Coordinates all aspects of events including tracking offerings throughout the year, recommending venue location, coordinating catering, creating invitations and tracking attendees
  • Coordinates and runs program events and workshops.  Includes day-of onsite presence to ensure the site is set up for event, attendees are checked-in, coordinate any audio visual or site needs, and ensure end-of-day breakdown/clean-up is taken care of
  • Schedules meetings to coordinate and support program offerings
  • Assists in the preparation, formatting, and creating presentations 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments, subcommittees, and teams to ensure program effectiveness
  • Ensures relevant standards, processes, and regulations are upheld

 

Medical Student / Residency Rotation Program:

  • Main point of contact for university or student wanting to rotate at Optum WA
  • Affiliation Agreement Process
  • Onboarding documentation
  • Process invoices/payments for WSU preceptors

 

Budget, Contract and Vendor Management:

  • Track OOCE budget ensuring responsible allocation and monitoring of resources
  • Provide regular financial reports and forecasts.  Works with financial analyst to ensure accounting compliance
  • Submits and monitors expense approval requests in CVENT system
  • Assists in contract and vendor management 

 

Analysis, Reporting and Quality Improvement:

  • Monitor and measure the success of programs and events
  • Generate comprehensive reports to communicate program outcomes to senior leadership (targets and metrics)
  • Identify and help facilitate opportunities for continual improvement

 

Communication, Stakeholder Engagement and Marketing:

  • Updates OOCE SharePoint site that houses clinician communications and program information
  • Work with Branding, Communications, and Recruiting to create internal and external marketing materials to promote OOCE offerings
  • Maintains relationships and effective communication with all program stakeholders
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve programs
  • Liaison with the marketing and communications team to increase program awareness

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or similar role
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills
  • Solid PowerPoint, Excel, and Smartsheet skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze and interpret metrics
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
