The experience in healthcare can be complicated and hard to navigate, making what can already be a challenging time that much harder for a consumer. The Program Manager is responsible for using product management best practices support larger business needs across customer experiences.

 

The Senior Program Manager will be an integral part of the Program Management Office and will support the larger Consumer Product organization. The role involves partnering with a cross-functional team throughout the process – starting with insights and problem identification and following through to implementation and measurement to develop high-value, modern, intuitive, and cross-channel experiences. The individual in this role will be expected to use product and agile methodologies to transform healthcare experiences at speed and scale.  As an integral part of the team, you’ll be at the intersection of supporting all key business partners while helping drive best in class solutions to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving cross-functional road maps, milestones, and key updates across the business. Serve as a business lead for larger team resource planning, events, and large format team updates
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the management processes, resources and governance, point of contact for Program Management best practices and continuous improvement
  • Provide mentor support for Program and Product Managers to foster skill development and operational excellence
  • Serve as primary intake channel for new opportunities: What do we want to achieve and why; work with stakeholders to map out the omni channel experience
  • Apply strategic mindset, in partnership with product leads, engineers, TPMs, architects, and designers, to set digital goals, prioritize work, and align on quality & delivery expectations
  • Establishes standards, guidelines, and cadences for Consumer Product program status reporting, including key milestones, risks, mitigation plans, and value impact that can be easily leveraged to support stakeholder and senior leader communications
  • Drives critical conversations for decisions throughout the year adapt to emerging opportunities while navigating competing priorities
  • Influence others and processes using strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and with an attitude that fosters teamwork in support of organizational goals
  • Build solid relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to identify and understand needs and opportunities
  • Partner with digital product and experience owners to ensure roadmap delivery to achieve business & digital goals
  • Lead and drive operational excellence efforts to improve how Consumer Product plans, tracks, and delivers the portfolio of work
  • Identify areas of opportunities and deliver solutions to standardize presentations, file management, and team workspaces

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in program/product management offices
  • Experience systematically analyzing problems, drawing relevant conclusions, and devising appropriate courses of action 
  • Experience prioritizing & managing demanding workloads with concurrent deadlines
  • Experience with large matrixed organizations and how they operate
  • Solid analytical skills and business acumen
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate and inspire at all levels, including addressing opportunities, risks, and strategic positioning with business and technology leaders

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MS Office, Teams, and Outlook
  • Experience utilizing Visio or Miro for process mapping 
  • Experience using product management software AHA! 
  • Experience in Healthcare
  • Experience in direct to consumer

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
