As a Field Based Senior Service Account Manager, this position will be based in the West Hills, CA area and be responsible for representing Optum360/Quest Diagnostics to our clients in a professional manner. This role will streamline, improve, and enhance the billing experience for physicians, office staff and patients through education while reducing missing information inflows, revenue loss, denial inflow, and bad debt for Optum360 and Quest. The Field Based Senior Service Account Manager will be required to work in the field (outside an office) at least 75% of the time in and around the Southern California area, visiting 6-8 clients in a day with one day per week for office work. Some overnight travel may be required.

This position is full-time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work on weekends. Our office is located at West Hills, CA.

We offer 4 weeks of training during normal business hours.

 
  
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improve billing data quality through the education and account management of customers, with efforts and emphasis to reduce missing information, bad debt, non-supported diagnosis/non-covered test
  • write-offs, self-pay write-off’s, and third-party denials.  
  • Conduct Client visits (Virtual/In-Person). Account visits will be prioritized based on evaluation of trends that show education needs in: 
    • Medicare Limited Coverage Policy/ABN
    • Medicaid requirements/policies
    • Regional specific third-party requirements/policies
    • Ordering provider registration (PECOS)
    • Missing demographic/insurance information for ordering physician and patient
  • Support Commercial Sales team with client training and education as required for large new customers and/or new billing initiatives.
  • Act as liaison for customer billing problems as necessary and communicate those to the appropriate person or department for resolution.
  • Drive improvement to defined goals.
  • Document all significant client interaction in CRM application (Salesforce.com). 
  • Must be in the field a minimum of two days per week 
  • Other duties as assigned including special projects, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years OR older
  • 2+ years of experience with healthcare medical billing / claims experience 
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to client sites using reliable transportation
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook 
  • Ability to use instant messaging, video conferencing, and virtual meeting tools
  • Reside within an hour from West Hills, CA
  • Ability to work between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST from Monday – Friday 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with face to face / virtual customer relationship management
  • Experience with working with data – pulling and analyzing information to understand root cause / trends / opportunities
  • Knowledge of Medicare / Medicaid coverage policies
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and rules
  • Microsoft Access experience

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
