This Senior Financial Consultant role supports UMR’s HealthSmart acquisition financials from several perspectives (Controllership, FP&A and Financial Operations).  This role is critical to completing the daily, weekly, monthly and other periodic financial tasks.  The role is a critical liaison between HealthSmart business owners and UHC/UMR Finance ensuring a smooth month end close and financial reporting, timely AP invoice payment, and accurate financial forecasts while supporting the business’ M&A efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly revenue recognition process converting monthly billings into revenue journal entries for month end close
  • HealthSmart month end financial reporting.  Lead HealthSmart variance commentary review.  Provide financial packages to Casualty and PPO leadership.  Reconcile certain balance sheet accounts
  • Coordinate Revenue and SG&A forecasts for HealthSmart in partnership with business dept level budget owners and UHC/UMR Finance for Revenue and SG&A forecast loads
  • Manage HealthSmart’s AP mailbox for successful migration to business owned invoice payment management
  • Support HealthSmart M&A efforts, i.e. Project Commodore and TSA Billing for Project Willow  
  • Support 2 dedicated Controllership resources

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in finance or accounting – advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ years of relevant financial analysis and solid analytic experience
  • Proven experience and technical knowledge in all areas of financial planning and analysis and accounting
  • Proven solid communication skills, with the ability to present information in a variety of different formats to all levels of stakeholders
  • Proven solid analytical skills, with the ability to articulate and define outcome measures that capture key performance metrics

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
