The National Accounts, Senior Director Financial Strategy is responsible for setting, executing on, and communicating our financial strategy at the case level. This position will focus on ensuring the delivery of a clear, compelling, and accurately evaluated financial proposal. The individual in this role will have deep healthcare knowledge, financial acumen, solid communication skills, and will be highly motivated.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Support our team in setting the financial strategy for each opportunity and partnering with the actuarial + underwriting teams to execute on that strategy
- Lead discussions with our consultant partners and the firm’s actuarial resources as well as prospects / clients that communicate our financial offer in a clear and compelling manner
- Influence how we’re being evaluated at the case level and ensure complete and accurate evaluation of our financial proposal
- Gather intelligence about the relative competitiveness of our financial proposal and recommend improvements to our approach
- Ensure accuracy and clarity in financial summaries that are released externally during the bid process
- Improve our processes to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Conduct pipeline analytics to understand key themes and win/loss trends
- Develop solid relationships with our internal business partners across actuarial, underwriting, finance, and consultant relations

Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in health industry
- Financial experience in functions like actuarial
- Demonstrated experience working with employers in the market in prior selling, client management or consulting capacities
- Demonstrated business acumen in financial analysis, reporting and forecasting and solid understanding of health benefits, health services and medical delivery operations
- Expert at both strategic conceptualization both at a local level and enterprise level as well as operational execution
- Excellent analytical skills; ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and conclude
- Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
- Highly motivated with solid leadership potential

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
