The entire group provides reporting and analytics for all MPP Clients that have an end-to-end relationship across the Revenue Cycle (e.g., Patient Access, HIM/Middle Revenue, Billing/Collections). The team partners with Data Acquisition, who pulls data from client data warehouses, and creates data models and technical logic requirements for Engineering counterparts. This allows data to feed both contractually obligated reporting in the Service Level Agreements (SLA) with the Client as well as Operational reporting that helps internal Optum teams in these areas make some data driven decisions on what is happening in each of the Revenue Cycle areas, e.g., meeting targets/goals being met, areas of opportunity and improvement, etc.
This individual will support revenue cycle reporting and analytics, through data validation, refinements and modeling to result in budgeted SLA achievement and client satisfaction.
You will be a part of a team of multiple departments and specialties on long term projects for the betterment of healthcare providers, helping to support Optum partnerships for continued corporate growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently creating, optimizing, automating SQL queries to support revenue cycle reporting needs
- Develop and design standardized data models for analytics and reporting
- Validate and reconcile inbound data feeds for completeness and accuracy, identify area for additional data checks to be added
- Utilize data from multiple sources to support performance measurement baselining and trending
- Seek opportunities to improve data management operating efficiencies/effectiveness (e.g., downstream impacts, role/responsibility realignment, enhanced business value)
- Gather information needed for the definition of technical requirements (e.g., business use cases, user stories)
- Complete source to target mapping documents as part of technical requirements for data engineers
- Collaborate with project team members to maintain all detailed data modelling and requirements documents including entity relationship diagrams
- Identify capability gaps between current state and desired state (e.g., data gaps, system cap, etc.)
- Collaborate with technology stakeholders (e.g., data engineers, architects) to communicate business and technical requirements
- Communicate ongoing updates to all stakeholders to ensure understanding of and alignment with project status/changes
- Identify and/or establish appropriate testing metrics/targets to validate that business requirements are being met (e.g., performance metrics, process deliverables, business value)
- Provide report writers with subject matter expertise of all existing global data models

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience working healthcare related data analytics or reporting role
- 3+ years of intermediate experience working with SQL
- Proven beginner level knowledge/experience in data modeling concepts
- Proven data mining and processing, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proven ability to troubleshoot data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business needs, and proposes documented solution recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management Analytics role
- Experience working with both RCM Acute and RCM Ambulatory data, data modeling, analytics and reporting
- Proven knowledge of multiple healthcare electronic record systems: Epic, Cerner, Meditech, MS4 (AS400) etc.
- Proven ability to facilitate constructive dialogue on business requirements

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
