The Financial Consultant will support the OptumRx Discount Reconciliation team in generating client discount reconciliations.  This role is responsible for generating client reconciliations, interpreting client contracts and implementing those terms, maintaining reconciliation code, analyzing outcomes and providing insights, supporting client discount audits, and collaborating with other teams as needed.

Schedule: Full-time position with standard working hours of Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex client pricing reconciliations through contract interpretation, financial modeling, and data analysis in support of OptumRx’s client pricing commitments for 3,000 + clients

  • Interface with account management, contract management, pharmacy accounting, and legal teams in support of meeting client contractual pricing commitments and influencing change in future client contracts

  • Collaborate with key business partners across the organization to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans and processes to improve outcomes and maximize client profitability

  • Deliver timely client reconciliations based upon contractual turnaround times and requests submitted by account management

  • Prepare month end, and quarter close business performance reports, including variance explanations and forward-looking performance estimates

  • Support Client Audit teams in responding to audit inquires and request with ad-hoc analysis and reporting utilizing various systems and tools such as SAS, Databricks, SQL, and Tableau

  • Seeks out new opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA qualified or part qualified

  • Analytic background with experience managing big data sets and financial modeling

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PBM experience

  • SAS and SQL experience

  • Quantitative and analytical skills, complimented by an entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset 

  • Experience using Microsoft PowerBI, Databrick, Tableau

Soft Skills:

  • Proven experience driving business performance in a high growth environment

  • Ability to build solid relationships at all levels, work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment

  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
