UnitedHealth Group Named to Dow Jones Sustainability North America and World Indices for 19th Consecutive Year

MINNETONKA, Minn. (Sep. 12, 2017) — UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) has been named to the 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI NA) and the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI W) for the 19th consecutive year.

UnitedHealth Group was recognized as among the leading companies worldwide for social responsibility, sound economic practices, environmental stewardship and consistently high financial performance that support business value over the long-term. The company scored in the 95th percentile in the Health Care Providers & Services Sector, ranking in the 90th percentile or above in individual categories such as corporate citizenship and philanthropy, partnerships towards sustainable health care, service to patients, operational eco-efficiency, environmental policy and management systems, and codes of business conduct.

The DJSI World Index is the first global index to track the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide based on an analysis of financially material economic, environmental and social factors. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices are maintained by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, an international investment firm focused exclusively on sustainability investing. RobecoSAM invites more than 3,000 publicly traded companies, including 800 companies in emerging markets, to report annually on their sustainability practices.
