As a team lead you will be responsible for leading a group of two to four individual contributors in the design and development of the Episource Analyst application. You will work closely with product owners and stakeholders to turn business requirements into functioning software systems. You will work with department leadership to formalize the processes that guide how your team operates.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Team Leads are experienced individual contributors and emerging people managers. You will be key in bridging the communication and requirements gap between individual contributors and product owners

  • Frequently contributes to and reviews code in important, core and complex components and frameworks
  • Demonstrates solid ability and influences others to choose proper off the shelf software frameworks and libraries when needed
  • Guides the team in anticipation of future use cases and helps them make design decisions that minimize the cost of future changes
  • Understands the testing philosophy and approach, writes unit tests as well as higher level tests. Uses quality metrics to identify gaps
  • Designs, documents, and builds simple and scalable solutions for complex problems with elegant and reusable architectures resulting in modular services, functions, or workflows that are resilient, maintainable, easy to monitor and pioneer best practices for engineers
  • Ensures cross-team dependencies are noted and well understood by teams involved and other relevant stakeholders
  • Anticipates and communicates blockers and delays within their team’s projects before escalating
  • Mentors across teams in a group or an individual setting in an open, respectful, and empathetic manner. Fosters a team culture of mentoring by seeking mentoring opportunities for themselves and others, and supports others in their growth as mentors
  • Requires an individual to maintain the ability to work in an environment with PHI / PII data
  • May be assigned other duties
  • Must maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in web application development, including leading technical decision making for a team
  • Must either have experience with people management, or a desire to take on people management responsibilities including weekly one on ones, mentoring, performance reviews, etc.
  • Working knowledge of design patterns/anti patterns
  • Working knowledge of microservices architectures
  • Working knowledge of highly scalable distributed and cloud native databases
  • Proficient at building applications with TypeScript or another modern C-style language
  • Proven excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Good working knowledge of React, Node.js, GraphQL, SQL, and modern CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience, professional certification
  • Experience with event sourcing tooling like AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka
  • Working knowledge of event driven and cloud architectures
