Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.

These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery. With every role in the company, each position has a requirement for building quality into every output. This also includes evaluating new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain solid knowledge of the application platform capabilities and be a thought partner across business functions to translate product roadmaps into successful delivery to meet customer value
  • Orchestrate the software development processes across business and technology teams to successfully deliver software releases
  • Manage the team of software developers, in the US and Bulgaria
  • Partner with product management, QA, architecture, and key leaders across the platform to prioritize capabilities and ensure development teams are setup to successfully meet milestones
  • Work directly with customers on key technical needs
  • Drive continuous improvement in cross-functional processes through partnership with business and technology teams
  • Maintain understanding of the Bind platform strategy and roadmaps to ensure technical staffing needs are known and deliverable expectations are informing business priorities
  • Provide guidance and architecture related to public cloud migrations and containerized solutions
  • Lead and develop teams focused on modernization, enablement, and engineering culture
  • Create quick working proof of concepts to validate and formalize solutions and design
  • Own the overall technical design and direction of the developed product
  • Bring innovative ideas to help continuously improve the application portfolio including the design, build, deploy, test and runtime within cloud ecosystems
  • Participate in debugging and performance tuning in a high performance cloud platform
  • Involve in troubleshooting and debugging critical problems and resolving complex technical issues that may arise
  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance and direction through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff
  • Work most often impacts a large business unit, or multiple markets/sites
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a related technical field)
  • 15+ years of experience with at least 5-8 years of experience in handling large teams with expertise in building and shipping production enabled software in a scaled distributed environment
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in application development, preferably in the health care field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python/PySpark
  • Experience working as a liaison between business and technical teams, including the ability to influence business and technical requirements by understanding each
  • Proven excellent analytical skills with ability to read and understand company strategy, priorities, architecture, processes, and individual talents and interests to articulate options and recommendations, make thoughtful and effective decisions, and get cross-team alignment to successfully execute
  • Proven excellent project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines, and demonstrated solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership in agile software process orchestration, including Agile/Scrum/Kanban, across technology and product management teams and with multiple simultaneous projects
  • Ability to manage a team of developers while creating an excellent culture to attract and retain talent and deliver highly productive and responsive results 
  • Technical design and programming skills to engage with the development team
  • Proven ability to influence course of action when others are directly accountable for outcome
  • A great attitude and the passion and persistence to solve complex problems
