Primary Responsibilities:

Technology/Cloud Usage Expert

• Expert in Cloud Usage
• Cloud cost cloud reporting mechanisms provided by vendors
• Nuances between CSP reporting mechanisms
• Commercial implementations and use cases of cloud usage
• Cloud usage reporting strategies (Tagging, as well as other use cases such as RI reporting)
• Usage reporting impacts for chargeback/show back of cloud usage
• Expert in Cloud Commitment
• UHG’s specific contractual terms and progress against those terms
• Operational Impacts to cloud commitment (RI purchases, credits, pricing changes, technology changes) Multi-year Cloud usage modeling
• Expert in Technology usage
• Cross service data definition implications (type/sub-type/region) across systems
• Establish consistently process across technology services that mirror cloud standards
• How platform interdependencies impact the visibility of costs across supply change

Technology/Cloud Forecasting Expert

• Expert in cloud forecasting
• How to estimate and forecast cloud applications
• How to estimate and forecast new cloud applications
• How technology changes impact cloud forecasts
• How business, priority, and vendor strategies impact cloud forecasts
• Expert in technology forecasts
• How technology costs carry forward through supply chain
• How technology usage impacts usage forecast durability and risk
• Business critical workload considerations on forecast (exit strategies, divestitures, etc)

Business Strategy

• Maximizing UHG’s Cloud Position (Commit)
• Operate UHG’s cloud commitments
• Define a vendor commitment strategy that leverage UHG’s context (account strategies, required services, platform capabilities)
• Define strategies that exploit unique vendor positions
• Mitigate forecast gaps
• Define strategies/playbooks for managing forecast gaps
• Establish and maintain a forecast mitigation gap strategy
• Manage P&L impacts of forecast gaps
• Maximize UHG’s LOB Forecasting engagement –
• Define strategies that align to each LOB’s priorities to maximize forecast accuracy
• Define strategies that integrate matrixed organizational responsibilities
• Define strategies that can quickly adapt to UHG’s organization change
• Define strategies that meet LOB financial needs for forecasting
• Accelerate Technology usage use cases
• Define strategies that align to each LOB’s priorities to maximize savings
• Define strategies that integrate matrixed organizational accountability responsibilities
• Define strategies that can quickly adapt to UHG’s organization change
• Define strategies that meet LOB financial needs for savings
• Achieve Fortune 5 scale through maximized re-use and value
• Define strategies that simplify the problem landscape to reduce the unique requirements
• Define Pareto centric strategies so we only execute on the highest value initiatives
• Define strategies that continuously optimization our processes (reduce time and cost, increase ROI)
• Lead with context instead of direction
• Navigate ambiguous requirements to effectively address highest value problems
• Align conflicting stakeholder expectations to the highest value problems
• Adapt messaging and strategy without impacting value streams and commitments

Partners

• Partner with CIO organizations and major consumers to successfully achieve cloud cost savings.
• Partner with the Cloud Operations, Public Cloud Governance, and other cloud teams to achieve successful cost savings outcomes
• Partner with AWS, Azure, and GCP to secure a successful cost savings outcomes

Communication

• Clear actionable, and ‘valuable use of time’ communications across docs, user groups, videos, products
• Direct and partner executive material is accurate, update, and available on demand with core stakeholder approvals
• Create content that ‘advances the art’ and exceeds the depth, breath, and quality available from commercial offerings

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
