Optum Health Education is a jointly accredited medical education company. We are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Psychological Association (APA) to provide continuing education for the health care team. We offer accredited educational activities in the form of onsite conferences and single activities such as live and on-demand webinars, newsletters and self-paced learning. Our learners include UHG employees as well as payers, providers and employers nationwide.

The Continuing Education Manager (CEM) participates in the coordination and execution of continuing education activities that are in adherence with ACCME/Joint Accreditation Criteria standards. The CEM has regular communication with OHE clients to ensure the activities meet their goals and priorities and high-quality deliverables are provided. They also communicate with faculty experts from across the U.S. This position requires someone with knowledge and experience working with continuing medical education. This position is ideal for someone who would like to advance his/her career in the area of continuing education/accreditation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Continuing education (CE) coordination: completion and processing of CE applications and supporting materials, organization and documentation of CE content for reporting purposes, assist with data collection and analysis to maintain the quality of education programs
  • Activity management: work with clinical manager and faculty to ensure content development is completed and received in accordance with time and event schedule and meets timeline for website development, develop promotional flyer and send email blasts to promote activity
  • Website management: build individual activity website on OHE website for registration, promotion, evaluation, and certificate generation 
  • Faculty management: coordination of speaker correspondence, collection of required CME/CEU speaker documentation (disclosures, objectives, biographical information, slide presentations etc.)
  • Client management: communicate with and schedule regular meetings with clients. Customer -centric, focus on priorities and providing high quality educational activities to meet client expectations
  • Budget reconciliation and invoicing upon activity completion. 
  • May be assigned to attend conferences to support continuing education/speaker management

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years administrative and project management experience
  • Experience with continuing medical education (CME) programs
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with external Learning Management Systems
  • Experience with CME program development and coordination

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Meeting planning experience
  • Experience with Joint Accreditation activity management
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with medical professionals
  • Solid interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to deal effectively with deadlines and time pressures
  • Self-directed, self-motivated team player experienced at effectively participating as part of a team

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
