The Product Manager position will entail product management in our Public Sector lines of business, Medicare and Medicaid, for Optum’s market leading Transplant Resources Services business. This program works with patients, clients and providers to improve the care of individuals seeking life-saving transplant care. The position will support the management of current business and expansion to new potential clients while working across functional lines to meet customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Determine how the consumer experience should work – translating a vision to processes and requirements
  • Support the development of market and sales strategies and a value proposition
  • Manage revenue or savings opportunities associated with product development initiatives
  • Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned; cohesive progress across technology, marketing and service operations.
  • Serve as the primary day to day contact for UHC lines of business. 
  • Understand and manage client expectations and service needs by building and maintaining positive relationships (both internal and external) and by delivering quality service, thereby enhancing Optum’s reputation in the industry
  • Prepare presentation materials and present to client stakeholders; respond to client requests for information and articulate program value
  • Act as a client advocate and proactively partners with/leads teams to exceed client expectations
  • Monitor key performance indicators for clients and escalate issues where necessary
  • Identify trends and collaborate with functional stakeholders (including clinical operations, analytics, and UHC) to ensure appropriate resolution of identified problems
  • Engage cross-functional teams on the delivery of program strategy, escalating issues where necessary and driving to resolution
  • Work with leaders to support product strategy with respect to value proposition, positioning, product portfolio(s), distribution, and product features/function
  • Lead projects related to new initiatives and program refinements to deliver incremental value for clients & members

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of product management/product development/business management/finance management experience/client management or related experience
  • Financial acumen pertaining specifically to cost analysis, financial analytics and savings/return on investment analysis development
  • Presentation skills and the ability to develop and present information in concise manner to a variety of audiences and levels
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
  • Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals.
  • Willing or ability to travel up to 10%

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience within the UHC lines of business
  • Experience in healthcare services products such as care management, wellness, etc.
  • Experience with transplant and/ or complex care products/services 
  • Experience with a leading accounting firm, Finance or Management Consulting
  • Knowledge of health insurance industry, products and services and the managed care environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
