Primary Responsibilities:
- Team Management/People Leadership
- Clear goal setting in alignment with organization priorities
- Coach the team to meet performance objectives. Deal with performance issues as and when the need arises
- Raise the bar for the team by bringing in the right talent
- Maintain high levels of Employee engagement for respective teams – Accountable for employee engagement (EEI) and Manager Engagement(MEI)
- Collaboration Skills
- Be able to work with cross functional teams (possibly outside the portfolio) on enterprise initiatives – influencing without authority
- Be able to clearly communicate and bring alignment
- Work with diverse set of teams – operations, product, architecture, Quality Management, et on enterprise initiatives from time to time
- Engineering Skills
- Be accountable for the metrics for the capabilities/apps/platforms – System Performance (Availability, Page Load time, Stability), Productivity Improvement, Agile Maturity,
- Raw Error Rate, et
- Provide leadership during Outage, war room calls
- Deep dive into incidents and come up with improvement plans to address the same
- Drive cloud native engineering practices in the team
- Security posture of the product/app in-line with enterprise guidelines
- Operational /Other Skills
- Meet all enterprise obligations like time accounting, staff budget management, Utilization, and productivity improvement
- Cloud cost management and staying within budget
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of experience in technology, with 3+ years of building highly scalable applications, preferably in platform construct
- 4+ years of practitioner experience on Agile/DevOps
- Experience with managing delivery of complex cloud native solutions; experience with Azure and Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework a plus
- Solid understanding of DevOps and monitoring tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace)
- Well versed with cloud native solutioning, data messaging/streaming (Kafka), containerization and its orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), NoSQL
- Solid Full stack development skills – J2EE, RDBMS/NoSQL, JavaScript (React or Angular)
- Proven ability to manage a team of 20+ engineers including Engineering Managers, Architects, and software engineers
- Proven solid collaboration and inter-personal skills – should be able to clearly communicate and work with stakeholders up the hierarchy, within the team and across the team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in US healthcare or retail domain
- Experience in large transformation projects (Legacy to modern systems)
- Experience in Business process and decision management tools
- Experience in Data Science concepts and application of the same in building products
