As Director – Technical Data Analysis at Optum, you’ll be responsible for working with key business and technical partners to develop industry-leading data solutions that provide insights and analytics that drive efficiency and value to clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Management of Technical Data Analysts on the team, with hands-on support and development of data models, solutions and visualization efforts with team members.
•    Lead the collection, analysis and reporting of data within a fact paced and dynamic team . 
•    Lead collaborative engagements with business partners, SMEs, and developers to ensure a shared understanding of business and technical requirements.
•    Communicate with both technical and non-technical staff to foster collaboration between departments and support non-technical staff in applying analytics to other organizational activities and decisions.
•    Recommend new products and ideas based on data patterns, insights and customer trends   
•    Development of data models that provide analytics insights to drive efficiency and value  
•    Lead business analytics, data visualization, data mining and other data infrastructure to help make profitable, data-driven decisions
•    Lead QA and testing of data solutions and partner with key stakeholders owners to validate User Acceptance testing of work products
•    Drive and lead stakeholder engagement by taking ownership of all requirements definition, and manage requirements delivery through to production 
•    Develop team members to constantly advance in soft-skill and technical areas.

Required Qualifications:

•    Expert SQL and Python experience
•    Strong experience with data modelling and visualization to be able to effectively interpret complex data sets and enable business insights   
•    Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies such as ETL, Data Governance/Normalization and data engineering practices 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to work with cross-functional and geographically remote teams 
•    Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
•    Create effective data summaries and conclusions that are tailored towards audience – from technical to senior business stakeholders 
•    Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills with ability to balance multiple priorities.
•    Experienced people manager of team of technical data analysts
•    A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a comparable discipline with prior experience in data analysis or a related field being advantageous.
•    Strong project management skills and experience in leading data analysis projects and solutions 
•    Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating good level of maturity

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Experience with Data Modelling and Data engineering techniques 
•    Experience with Agile development methodology
•    Healthcare / Pharmacy experience
