The Associate Director, Corporate Planning & Strategy works with the Optum Whole Health Solutions leadership team and business partners to ensure flawless planning and execution of business strategies, corporate operating cadence, and deliverable creation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Curates internal and external meeting materials (e.g., presentations, agendas, meeting notes and follow ups), for meetings including but not limited to, UHG / Optum / Optum Health Quarterly Business Reviews, UHG Board of Directors meetings, Earnings Releases, Investor Conference, Whole Health Solutions Business Reviews, Town Halls, and Leadership Team meetings
  • Work with the Whole Health Solutions’ executive leaders to execute business vision, mission, planning, strategies and tactics to achieve revenue and IOI targets
  • Demonstrate strong executive leadership presence – must be able to step into senior level meetings to represent the strategy and team
  • Supports cross functional teams helping to remove roadblocks and ensure progress against Whole Health Solutions strategy and corporate deliverables. Drive and manage high-quality execution across organizational lines.
  • Developing and coordinating strategic presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Collaborate with internal leaders and external partners to gain an understanding of their business needs and adapt business plans accordingly.
  • Work closely with other executive office staff in support of leaders

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in strategic planning, consulting, special projects and/or chief-of-staff type roles supporting C-suite executives
  • Experienced in creating professional presentations and developing messaging around business strategies
  • Experienced in developing work plan to effectively manage projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high level executive management team to manage business performance and strategic direction, building strong relationships across business groups
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential or sensitive information in a professional, discreet manner
  • Demonstrated ability to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing demands
  • Demonstrated financial and business acumen
  • Proven superior communication (written/verbal), presentation, and facilitation skills

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in health care industry, business or public policy

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
