Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join our new Optum Insight Product and Market Activation team focused on product strategy, innovation and transformation! We are launching a new unique role that is designed to pair leaders on the new Product Strategy & Transformation team with SVP product domain leaders across the Optum Insight Product portfolio. 

Together, you will drive key initiatives aligning product strategy with business objectives and ensuring operational excellence across the product organization. 

This role blends high-level product strategy and business transformation leadership to enhance decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and execution of strategic priorities. 
The role will allow you to work across and learn the entire Optum Insight product portfolio across domains including Revenue Cycle Management, Payer Administration, Networks, Risk & Quality, Tech Enabled Services, Clinical Decision Support, Provider Value Enablement, and Real Time Settlement.  We are looking for candidates who are extremely motivated and energized by a fast-paced, innovative environment. Primary Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities in partnership with Product Domain Leaders:

  • Product Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute a long-term product strategy aligned with business goals and market trends
    • Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer insights research to identify new opportunities
    • Partner with product and engineering teams to shape a high-impact, innovation-driven roadmap
    • Ensure that product investments align with business priorities and revenue growth objectives
    • Serve as advisor to the Product Domain Leader, providing strategic support and helping to drive key initiatives
    • Lead executive-level planning, including quarterly business reviews, monthly product reviews, and product leadership meetings
    • Act as a communication bridge between the Product Domain Leaders and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and execution of priorities
    • Own strategic OKRs and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the product organization, tracking progress and reporting on outcomes
    • Work closely with finance, operations, and product leaders to support budget planning, resource allocation, and investment decisions
  • Business & Digital Transformation:
    • Lead strategic initiatives to modernize the product portfolio, including cloud migration, AI/automation integration, and new business models
    • Drive process improvements and organizational change to enhance product team efficiency and effectiveness
    • Implement frameworks to accelerate innovation and improve time-to-market for new products
    • Act as a liaison between Product Domain Leaders, engineering, GTM teams, and executive leadership to drive alignment
    • Establish best practices for product development, decision-making frameworks, and governance processes
    • Develop and launch employee programs to create a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
  • Performance Measurement & Data-Driven Insights:
    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success, customer adoption, and revenue impact
    • Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve product-market fit
    • Ensure transparency in reporting product performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, strategy, or business transformation
  • 5+ years of experience in health care product, finance, consulting or growth roles
  • 3+ years of experience with product strategy, business model development, and top line growth
  • Experience driving initiatives in a heavily matrixed environment which requires the ability to influence and hold accountable without direct oversight
  • Demonstrated experience using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complicated ideas and strategies in a clear, concise fashion
  • Proven excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
  • Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and driving organizational change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent experience in business strategy, technology, or product management
  • Proven excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Proven solid executive presence

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
