As a Tech Product Manager, Technical Product Management at Optum, your responsibilities will include managing the product roadmap for your assigned capability and team, ensuring product delivery meets customer expectations, actively managing backlog refinement, grooming and prioritization, creating and maintaining feature and user story development, and ensuring product releases meet expected outcomes. You will manage the evaluation of product requirements, specifications and the ranking of features in order of importance. You will define product roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders, contributing market and technical insights throughout the process. You will learn the Optum Rx Pharmacy and PBM business (user experiences, operations processes, business data and rules) and the modernized technology needed for you to be successful in creating high quality roadmaps, features and user stories. You will be the foremost authority on the product’s overall capabilities and will collaborate closely with the development team to ensure its success. Finally, you would strive to achieve customer delight and higher Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Primary Responsibilities:
The specific responsibilities include, but not limited to the following are:
- Create the vision, mission, and roadmap for the product
- Work closely with onsite & offshore teams for the requirements analysis & solutions design
- Play a leading role in managing the product backlog and crafting user stories and sign off on feature acceptance, all the while adhering to the agile process constituted for the managing the project
- Interface with the architecture and engineering teams for assessing capabilities and alternatives and own the definition and prioritization of product releases
- Create release notes, demo scripts, conduct feature demos for stakeholders, and conduct product demos for stakeholders/clients
- Actively engage business stakeholders and complete necessary training to learn the Optum Rx Pharmacy and PBM businesses, including user experiences, operations processes, business data and rules
- Actively engage technology stakeholders and complete necessary training to learn the modernized technology needed for you to anticipate and meet the needs of the development team in creating high quality roadmaps, features and user stories
- Establish collaborative “trusted advisor” relationship with business and technology constituents and partners
- Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for products
- Clearly articulate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to engineering team effectively as and when needed
- Create, maintain and present audience-appropriate material on product capabilities, roadmap, status and dependencies to team, peers and executive leadership
- Collaborate with UX, architecture and engineering team to drive product design
- Identify and access relevant data to build compelling business case in self-directed manner
- Prioritize backlog at feature and user story level with complete understanding of feature set
- Drive system demo to stakeholders and customers
- Identify potential issues and pro-actively develop mitigation plans
- Build and drive culture of innovation in the portfolio
- Drive continuous improvement in product management practice and disciplines, including intake and backlog refinement, grooming and agile delivery
- Effective action on feedback received during retro meetings

Required Qualifications:
- Well versed with Enterprise Application workflow, Platforms, User Experience and API Orchestration systems
- Extensive knowledge and experience in greenfield Product Development, MVP, and Product Launch
- Ability to collaborate with the stakeholder team, comprehend the requirements of the business, and convert them into functionalities and user stories, and possess a solid comprehension of the Agile methodology
- Relationship management and active listening skills and experience, and will be responsible for developing relationships with business and technology partners
- Ability to develop user experience, non-user function, and functional specifications for the product
- Proficient in the delineation and execution of product strategies and roadmaps
- Proficient in the evaluation, analysis, and projection of data with respect to operational and business strategy
- Proficiency in conducting cost-benefit analyses and monitoring forecasts to verify that the product is operating as anticipated
- Proficient in utilizing data-driven insights and optimal methodologies to enhance product performance.
- Proficient knowledge of workflow, process enhancement, benchmarking, and/or assessment of enterprise processes
- Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry, including segment financial structures and business practices
