Technical Product Manager – Product Owner

Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, providing requirements so that the development team(s) delivers high-quality functionality that delivers the business goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Product Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to define the product vision and strategy. Ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs
- Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog. Ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of the requirements and priorities
- User Stories and Acceptance Criteria: Write clear and concise user stories/defects and acceptance criteria. Ensure that user stories and defects are well-defined and ready for development
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including customers, business leaders, and development teams, to gather requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations
- Sprint Planning and Review: Participate in sprint planning meetings to help the team understand the priorities and goals for each sprint. Review and accept completed user stories at the end of each sprint
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the product development process
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an agile environment
- 3+ years of experience as a product owner providing requirements to engineers and non-technical business resources
- 3+ years of proven ability to develop and build effective partnerships and relationships, collaborating and influencing across multiple levels within the organization
- 3+ years of solid understanding of SCRUM methodology and agile principles
- Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid commitment and passion for a product/customer-centric culture
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Optum’s PBM, Pharmacy & Specialty business and Call Centers
- Software engineering experience
