Oversee and manage the successful execution of Information Risk Governance’s (IRG) strategy, specifically relating to Government Regulatory Security Compliance assessments. These projects would relate to, but not limited to NIST RMF, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and StateRAMP. Is the subject matter expert for Government Regulatory Frameworks that provides technical expertise and thought leadership within the Information Risk Governance (IRG) team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads the development and execution of Information Risk Governance department operations, methodology, technologies and tools. Helps drive continuous improvement efforts in alignment with direction provided by leadership and industry standards
- Manages advisory projects to improve business systems/processes, identification of emerging risks, and make recommendations to improve the control design, operating effectiveness/efficiency to comply with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements
- Manages and leads portions of the overall risk assessment plan including collaborating with stakeholders and business partners to develop assessment scope and approach
- Executes assessment plan including analyzing assessment data and drawing conclusions on the difference between our baseline and implemented requirements
- Assists, reviews and/or responds to inquiries and helps to develop business case for assessment efforts within assigned business segment
- Identifies and resolves operational and IT security concerns using defined processes, expertise and judgement
- Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities
- Designs IT risk assessment and reporting processes that clearly identify scope, findings, management responses and corrective actions taken to resolve identified control weaknesses and reduce IT security risks
- Maintains effective communications with all levels of management that foster a collaborative atmosphere and partners with other risk and control functions to coordinate assessments that overlap and leverage work to the strongest extent possible
- Understands the business implications of audit findings and IT security risks and coordinates with the appropriate management to develop practical and actionable business solutions in a timely, cost-effective manner
- Designs internal reporting systems to measure, monitor, and track progress toward corporate goals and department objectives
- Provides thought leadership, vision, and direction for assigned teams:
- Accountable for all decisions within the group
- Determines team priorities to reflect the organization’s core values and deliverables
- Develops, coaches and motivates others to take actions that support and reflect the core values and desired future state
- Develops and manages departmental budgets including forecasting and variance analyses
- Develops mid-year and end-year performance reviews including setting goals and expectations
- Sets team direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to members of their own team
- Accountable for all decisions within the group

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- Relevant IT certification(s) (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CIPT, CCSK, CCSP, CSFP, ISA, CIA, etc.)
- 8+ years of relevant IT experience including audit experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience with individuals/teams
- Intermediate level of familiarity and ability to work with Cloud Security frameworks
- Intermediate understanding of IT security and internal control concepts and their practical application
The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
