In this leadership role, you will have accountability for client relationship management and oversight of the administration, programs and strategic plans for strategic partner health system organizations. Other key responsibilities will include operational performance, financial management, and overall program success across long-term partnerships. As a leader in the OptumInsight Provider Market business unit, you will partner with other leaders, including enterprise analytics, care transformation, growth and market disruption, revenue cycle management, social impact, finance, vendor management, technology, and compliance. The successful candidate must be passionate about driving performance improvements, effective at working in a fast-paced environment and confident in their interactions with cSuite executives.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provide leadership and be accountable for the performance and direction of the services for the Optum-client partnership, including Optum-delivered managed services and strategic initiatives
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans that address client business needs (current and emerging), support growth, provide measurable value, and increase client engagement/loyalty
  • Participate in partnership governance and serve as the primary accountable person to manage the partnership relationship
  • Provide oversight and strategic input to enable service areas, including executive performance reporting and delivery of status, risks, issues and mitigation planning
  • Oversee and actively engage with employees within the managed services portfolio
  • Serve as the direct line of communication to client cSuite and Board of Directors (as needed)
  • Communicate to Optum executives to provide frequent performance updates
  • Manage the P&L for the Optum-client partnership
  • Meet/Exceed SLAs and operating targets

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of progressive leadership roles in the Health Care industry
  • 5 + years in managed services, including delivery and operations experiences
  • Experience managing relationships and presenting to cSuite customers and Board of Directors
  • Demonstrated success building and evolving relationships with cSuite stakeholders (internal and external)
  • History of leading, influencing and managing a matrixed global workforce
  • Track record of success driving major initiatives across complex matrixed organizations
  • Proven strategic planning, analytics and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working with clinical leaders
  • Experiences across Analytics, Care Continuum Delivery, ITO and Revenue Cycle services for Providers
  • Proven application of change management methodologies
  • Prior P&L ownership
  • In-depth knowledge of Optum service delivery model and operations
  • Graduate degree in related field (e.g. MBA, MHA, or equivalent)

The salary range for this role is $191,800 to $364,800 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
