The Data Quality Analyst role will work within the Optum Life Sciences – Data Platform Advancement Team responsible for data quality assurance and the development of world-class healthcare data products used in healthcare and pharmaceutical research. You will be accountable for ensuring the proper Quality Assurance controls are adhered to for inbound data, internal analytics and outbound results to customers while ensuring operational excellence and continuity within the Life Sciences data platform.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform Data Analysis utilizing basic database SQL queries to ensure data integrity, accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in developing and executing test cases within an ETL, Data Warehouse and Reporting Application Environment. Responsible to System / Integration test User interface, Database, Reporting, ETL / Batch application components with strong emphasis on Data Quality
  • Generate and maintain Quality Metric reports. Analyze and optimize QA business processes, monitor and report quality metrics for Life Sciences Data Management and Reporting
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across teams though out the QA lifecycle.   Share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to staff, business sponsors, managers, and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience
  • Use database statistics and data trending to compare data between deliveries to identify issues. Create business intelligence reports to highlight the data quality and completeness

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience in a big-data cloud computing platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) in a professional or educational setting
  • 2+ years of SQL query experience writing basic select statements and stored procedures in a professional or educational setting

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information System or related program
  • Completed course work in Data Management, Quality or Data Governance
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or organization on providing healthcare services
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with strong problem solving and creativity innovation

 

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
