This individual has a broad business approach and is sought out as a functional expert.  This position manages the delivery and execution of assigned projects and contributes to the achievement of Information Risk Governance (IRG) goals and objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and execution of Information Risk Governance department operations, methodology, technologies and tools. Helps drive continuous improvement efforts in alignment with direction provided by leadership and industry standards
  • Manages the execution and delivery of IT Security Risk and Compliance assessments for a variety of technology and systems in both on-prem, and cloud environments in a timely manner and by meeting the expected quality standards. (NIST-800, PCI, ISO 27001, HiTRUST)
  • Leads the team of analysts by setting expectations for the project deliverable, individual performance, deliverable and timelines
  • Establishes the scope of projects, creates detailed assessment procedures, assigns the deliverables to the team, reviews deliverables for quality, provides feedback and coaching, and ensures project completion to professional and departmental standards
  • Leads and directs cross functional teams, large complex projects or segment teams to achieve key business objectives and reduce IT security risks
  • Provides staff with professional and technical expertise and guidance to ensure that project objectives and scope are satisfied. This includes assisting staff members and contractors in the development and negotiation of recommendations and responses, evaluating the performance of the team, and providing guidance regarding department and company policies and procedures
  • Successfully identifies, addresses, manages and/or escalates risks and issues within a project to the segment lead
  • Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products and/or approaches to meet business needs and address IT security concerns
  • Leads special projects undertaken by the department and/or the Company

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or equivalent experience
  • Relevant IT certification(s) desirable (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CIPT, CCSFP, ISA, CIA, etc.) 
  • 5+ years of Security/IT Audit experience 
  • 4+ years of relevant IT experience including audit experience 
  • 2+ years supervisory experience of individuals/teams
  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability of leading a team to deliver on IT Audit/Security/Risk Assessment projects 
  • Experience working in a complex IT environment
  • Experience auditing at least two: HIPPA, PCI, NIST-800, HITRUST, SSAE18, SOX 404, ISO 27001
  • Familiarity/demonstrated ability of working in /work with cloud security frameworks
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills (verbal & written) and analytical skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in health insurance systems
  • Proven to make a positive impact with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
