Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as an organizational design and organizational efficiency leader on Optum Health’s People team by providing organizational design & development expertise across Optum Health’s organization of ~80k employees.
- Organizational design responsibilities:
- Bring extensive organizational design experience and expertise to guide and influence senior leaders to scope and manage organizational design and transformation initiatives
- Build and implement an organizational design strategy, approach, and tangible deliverables that meet each unique business need and are aligned with organizational priorities
- Independently design and lead organizational design and development projects that improve people processes, structures, and accountabilities with the ultimate goal to optimize the deployment of internal resources to achieve superior business results
- Create and deliver design workshops with internal stakeholders to gain alignment of future state vision
- Stay at the forefront of emerging practices in the field of organizational development. Engage in networks and forums, sharing best practices with peers. Your commitment to growth fuels our collective progress.
- Analytics responsibilities:
- Build Excel models to calculate organizational efficiency metrics to share with business leaders
- Use Excel to conduct full organizational diagnostic prior to conducting organizational design
- Use organizational design expertise to calibrate efficiency or diagnostic analysis for the unique business context and problems to be solved
- Ensure that systematic methods of measuring quality and impact are in place
- Consulting responsibilities:
- Create executive-ready PowerPoint documents with clear storylines
- Define the problem to be solved; create and implement plans to address a wide variety of organizational efficiency initiatives
- Proactively collaborate and pressure-test work with colleagues to drive to the best answer versus
- Work under tight timelines and to get to an answer and define next steps
- Work closely with the Optum Health Transformation Management Office on a wide variety of transformation initiatives; act as a change agent supporting complex transformational efforts
- Use expertise, data, and relationship-building to help influence and build consensus around decision-making related to organizational design.
- Contribute to the design of both formal and informal governance structures and processes that facilitate efficient decision-making; highlight and address cross-functional interdependencies
- Partner with and direct the work of project managers, analysts, communications colleagues, people analytics colleagues, talent acquisition colleagues, and business leaders to drive initiatives to successful conclusions

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in detailed organizational design
- 3+ years of formal consulting experience at a consulting company and/or as part of an internal consulting team
- 3+ years of analytics experience; very solid Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of People Team specialties
- Proven executive leadership presence and credibility
- Proven solid relationship builder and passion for fostering a positive work environment
- Proven effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven advanced facilitation skills for positive collaboration
- Proven excellent self-awareness of development opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Change management experience
- Global experience

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
