The Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development will play a key role in driving UnitedHealthcare’s long-term growth and strategic objectives. Individuals in this position serve as a driving force in helping the organization identify and evaluate strategic priorities, drive distinctive growth, and meet the many challenges and opportunities of the changing health care landscape.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all NJ Family Care contract requirements and metrics as stated in the NJ Medicaid state contract
- Including but not limited to, claims, reimbursement policy, encounters, reporting, etc.
- Lead efforts in preparation for and execution of annual state program audits
- Accountable for ad hoc reporting requests and/or inquiries from DMAHS, OIG, IPRO, etc.
- Lead Operations team comprised of individuals highly focused on maintaining operational excellence and ensuring all state contract requirements and metrics are met
- Leading implementation of new state required programs
- Continuously monitor and evaluate UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of NJ goals and identify opportunities for improvement
- Manage strategic projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing
- Lead in creation of frameworks and analyses to support strategic decisions that drive the business forward
- Think strategically and creatively, translating a vision to processes
- Navigate a highly matrixed organization
- Communicate effectively and accurately in writing and verbally with diverse internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to state regulators and providers

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Medicaid Program experience
- 5+ years of working in Operations Position(s) – progressive operational oversight and/or program management experience
- 5+ years of managed care sector experience
- Supervisory experience and demonstrated examples of how the individual has applied strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in implementing programs and projects
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate and delegate effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details; ability to communicate and coordinate effectively to internal and external customers on all levels
- Advanced level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to understand business models and their main levers, articulate business strategies and formulate concise solutions to complex problems
- History of effectively driving results in a dynamic, matrixed environment with high degree of organizational change and ambiguity
- Ability to champion continuous change and consult with versatility
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with the urgency to drive work forward
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in work direction and able to pivot work accordingly
- Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others to drive timely decisions

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits re subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
