As a part time, nonexempt Certified Hand Therapist, you will perform the duties of an experienced Occupational or Physical Therapist with specific emphasis on hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. The Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) will have a strong working relationship with referring surgeons, understand the immediate needs of post-surgical and trauma patients, and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and meet the needs of hand therapy patients to ensure positive outcomes. This role also provides efficient, quality-oriented patient therapy care through an individualized approach to include assessment, treatment, planning, education, and communication to maximize patient outcomes, as well as provide clinical support for hand trauma surgeons and various outside referrals. The CHT may provide oversee to other staff members. This position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation.

 

Location: Hillsdale Hospital located in Hillsdale, MI, is a 97-bed acute care facility, offering medical-surgical, emergency, behavioral health, obstetrics, surgical, and rehabilitation services.

Schedule: This part time, nonexempt position will work 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm, in the Outpatient Clinic.

Rehab Department Hours: Operating hours for the hospital are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, and Saturday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Outpatient hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm.  Software systems utilized include Agile (Outpatient), Brightree/Matrix (Home Health), NetHealth (SNF), and CPSI (Inpatient).

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited College or School of Physical or Occupational Therapy, Bachelor’s degree
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical or Occupational Therapist in Michigan  
  • Possess and maintain a current CHT Certification in good standing or 3+ years of experience as a Hand Therapist
  • Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy  

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $34.23 to $61.15 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
