Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software and data engineers
    • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architecture guidance, and process improvements
    • Collaborate with product, architecture, and business teams to deliver high quality solutions
    • Own sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and release management
  • Technical Delivery & Architecture
    • Oversee the design and development of data pipelines, ETL workflows, and integration solutions
    • Drive modernization of legacy systems, ensuring:
      • improved scalability and performance
      • reduction of redundancy and complexity
      • adoption of cloud native and microservices-based architectures
    • Architect and implement solutions leveraging:
      • azure Cloud services
      • azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
      • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation
  • Python & Data Engineering
    • Provide strong hands-on and oversight experience in:
      • Python-based data processing
      • workflow orchestration (Airflow, Prefect, etc)
    • ETL implementation and data transformation frameworks
    • API and batch processing development
    • Review and optimize large-scale data engineering workloads
  • ETL & Data Pipelines
    • Lead complex ETL pipeline architecture, including:
      • Data ingestion, transformation, validation, and error handling
      • Performance optimization and operational resilience
    • Advantageous: Experience guiding teams using Talend or similar ETL tools
  • SQL Server Engineering
    • Oversee schema design and database architecture
    • Guide teams in:
      • Query optimization
      • Indexing strategy
      • Execution plan analysis
    • Manage or advise on migrations from legacy SQL workloads to modern architecture
  • Azure Cloud & Kubernetes
    • Architect scalable solutions using Azure components:
      • AKS for compute
      • Blob Storage for data storage
      • Key Vault, Managed Identities, RBAC for security
      • Lead deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of microservices on AKS or equivalent Kubernetes platforms
      • Define containerization, image management, and runtime best practices
  • CI/CD, DevOps & Automation
    • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using:
      • Azure DevOps
      • GitHub Actions
      • Jenkins
    • Define branching strategies, release automation, and environment promotion workflows
    • Oversee container registry management and secure image handling
  • Modernization & Cloud-Native Transformation
    • Lead end-to-end modernization initiatives including:
      • Re-architecting monoliths to microservices
      • Migrating workloads to Azure cloud
      • Enhancing reliability, observability, and performance
    • Implement strategies to reduce technical debt and improve operational efficiency
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Required Technical Skills
    • 10+ years of experience in development project
    • Python (Data processing, ETL frameworks, API development)
    • Data Engineering – orchestration, ingestion, transformation, large-scale batch processing
    • SQL Server – schema design, tuning, migration strategies
    • Azure Cloud – AKS, Blob Storage, Key Vault, Managed Identity
    • Kubernetes – containerization, deployment, scaling, monitoring
    • CI/CD & DevOps – Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
    • Git – branching strategies, automation, release workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Certification(s) – AZ 900, AZ 204, AZ 305, or Kubernetes certifications
  • Experience with FACETS (Claims, Provider, Membership modules)
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Payer domain, including HIPAA, EDI 837/835 transactions
