The Associate Director, Medicaid Account Management will be responsible for account operations, coordinating solutions for client pharmacy program strategy, ensuring contract compliance, managing special projects, managing account team members, and serving as the Optum day-to-day operations point of contact with the State's pharmacy team. The position will report to the Optum Pharmacy Director on the account and have a leadership role on the team.
- Position is expected to start in January 2027

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages ongoing contract relationships and service delivery
- Acts as outward-facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact (not call center) and large or complex accounts
- Builds relationships with client contacts and serves as the primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery
- Represents client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
- Functions in a dedicated on-site service capacity
- Works closely with sales on renewals and upselling
- Contributes to segment NPS, EXI
- Impacts work at the operational or local business unit or market level

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of leadership experience supporting a State Medicaid account
- Experience managing Medicaid systems operations, including benefits administration, reporting and analytics, and contract administration
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional internal business partners to deliver on contractual obligations, support special projects, and resolve operational issues
- Experience using a pharmacy claims processing system and reporting tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid pharmacy operations and the integration of pharmacy programs within the broader Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings, both in person and virtually through Microsoft Teams
- Demonstrated success in driving client satisfaction and maintaining solid client retention
- Demonstrated ability to work at the client location in Columbia, SC 25%-50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and active pharmacy technician license
- Experience with Optum Rx claims processing platform (RxClaim)
- Experience with Optum Rx reporting and analytics platform (RxTrack)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
