As a full-time, exempt Specialty Pharmacy Manager, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Direct specialty pharmacy operations, ensuring timely access to complex and high-cost therapies
  • Lead and develop specialty pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, liaisons, and support teams
  • Oversee payer access, prior authorization, and reimbursement workflows, optimizing time-to-therapy
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, REMS, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and audits
  • Monitor clinical, financial, and operational performance metrics, driving quality and outcomes improvement
  • Collaborate with providers, manufacturers, and health system partners to support therapy access and care coordination
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives, supporting program growth, patient access, and sustainability  

Schedule: This full-time, exempt position will work a minimum of 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Location: Oaklawn Hospital was founded in 1925 as a 12-bed hospital in a residential home, funded by a group of visionary philanthropists. Now, over 100 years later, we are licensed for 77 acute care beds and a 17-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. Our service area includes Calhoun County and parts of Branch and Eaton counties with a medical staff of more than 300 providers representing over 50 specialties.

Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy utilizes Arbor, Athena, and ScriptPro. Pharmacy hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Required Qualifications: 

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree 
  • Current Michigan Pharmacist license in good standing 
  • Current MI Controlled Substance license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire 
  • 1+ years of pharmacy management experience 
  • Proficient computer skills with pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PharmD 
  • Experience with financial structures and/or 340b pricing
  • Prior Authorization experience   

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
