The Data Architect serves as a senior technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex data, analytics, and reporting solutions that support strategic business objectives. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and organizational leadership to solve highly complex business challenges through innovative use of data, analytics, automation, and technology.

The Data Architect is recognized as a subject matter expert who provides technical leadership across multiple initiatives, reviews and validates the work of peers, and develops scalable solutions in environments where requirements are often ambiguous or evolving. This role leads critical projects, mentors team members, and drives continuous improvement in analytical methodologies, data design, and business intelligence capabilities.

While operating within established enterprise architecture and governance frameworks, the Data Architect exercises significant autonomy in solution design, technical direction, and analytical strategy for complex, high-impact initiatives.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement complex data architectures, analytical solutions, and reporting frameworks that support business and operational objectives
• Translate business requirements into scalable data models, integration designs, and analytical solutions
• Develop innovative approaches to address complex business challenges where standard methodologies may not exist
• Evaluate emerging technologies, data sources, and analytical techniques to improve organizational capabilities
• Recommend and implement process, reporting, and technology improvements that increase efficiency and business value
• Perform highly complex analyses involving multiple data sources, business processes, and functional domains
• Identify trends, root causes, risks, and opportunities through advanced analytical methods
• Develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations that support business decision-making
• Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively create analytical solutions that address evolving business requirements
• Translate complex technical findings into understandable and actionable recommendations for business and executive audiences
• Review analytical outputs, solution designs, data models, and methodologies developed by peers and project teams
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, data quality requirements, and architectural best practices
• Provide expert guidance on complex data, reporting, and analytical challenges
• Serve as a trusted advisor for technical problem-solving, solution design, and implementation decisions
• Evaluate situations where standard methodologies may be insufficient and recommend appropriate alternative approaches
• Lead complex projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, business units, and technical teams
• Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
• Assess project complexity, identify risks, estimate resource needs, and support implementation planning
• Provide technical leadership during critical business initiatives and high-priority organizational projects
• Drive solution delivery in environments with aggressive timelines, competing priorities, and significant business impact
• Serve as a technical mentor and resource for analysts, engineers, and architects
• Share knowledge and best practices to strengthen team capabilities and improve organizational effectiveness
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement through thought leadership and collaboration
• Influence decision-making through expertise, credibility, and demonstrated business impact
• Promote high standards of analytical rigor, technical excellence, and accountability

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or related disciplines
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing complex data models, reporting solutions, and analytical frameworks
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
• Experience conducting advanced analyses and presenting findings to business and technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring technical professionals and influencing stakeholders without direct authority 
• Solid knowledge of data management, data integration, data governance, and analytics best practices
• Proven ability to solve complex business problems with limited direction and incomplete requirements
• Proven excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Business Analytics, or a related field
• Experience within healthcare, payer, provider, population health, quality measurement, or value-based care environments
• Experience designing enterprise reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions
• Experience leading highly visible, business-critical projects with significant organizational impact
• Experience reviewing and approving complex analytical methodologies and technical solution designs
• Expertise in healthcare data domains, quality reporting, regulatory reporting, and performance measurement
• Solid proficiency with cloud-based data platforms, large-scale data environments, and modern analytics technologies
• Demonstrated success improving business processes through automation, analytics, and innovative solution design
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a recognized subject matter expert across multiple data and business domains
• Proven track record of mentoring peers and leading through technical expertise and influence

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
