This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient care while supporting both the clinical and administrative operations of the practice. This position requires excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced gastroenterology practice. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and committed to delivering outstanding customer service. 

Schedules may vary based on operational needs.  

Applicants must be available to support shifts between the hours of 5:00 am - 5:00 pm - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday  

Tuesday evenings until 8:00 PM are required.

Primary Responsibilities:  

Front Desk

  • Greet and check patients in and out in a courteous and professional manner
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm office visits and procedures
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary referrals
  • Collect copayments and outstanding balances
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries
  • Maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Scan and upload patient documentation into the Epic
  • Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, preparation instructions, and post-visit care
  • Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, hospitals, pharmacies, and insurance companies
  • Resolve patient concerns professionally while providing excellent customer service
  • Assist with work queues in Epic tasks as assigned

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication reconciliation
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient visits and procedures
  • Perform clinical duties within scope of practice
  • Process prescription refill requests according to provider protocols
  • Assist with medication prior-authorizations
  • Prepare laboratory requisitions and coordinate diagnostic testing
  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies
  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines
  • Train for endoscopy suite and endoscopy tech 

Patient Care Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, preparation instructions, and post-visit care
  • Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, hospitals, pharmacies, and insurance companies
  • Resolve patient concerns professionally while providing excellent customer service
  • Assist with work queues and EMR tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Proven knowledge of EMR systems 
  • Ability to provide coverage for opening / evening shifts, as assigned
  • Willing to travel to and assist other practice locations based on operational needs

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Medical Assistant certification 
  • Medical office experience 
  • Epic experience 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proven solid organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to cross-train in both clinical and front desk responsibilities
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining professionalism at all times

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
