As a Lead Technical Product Manager within our UHC Medicare & Retirement Technology team, you will serve as the critical bridge connecting business strategy with technological execution. In this role, you will collaborate with product managers, business partners, and engineering teams to capture the Voice of the Customer (VOC), architect strategic multi-year product roadmaps, and define the future capabilities of our platforms. You will dive deep into product flows, evaluate technical alternatives, and leverage Agile collaboration tools like Aha!, Rally, and GitHub to drive backlog prioritization and promote engineering excellence. Additionally, you will drive modern operational practices by integrating approved AI productivity tools into your daily workflow to optimize product delivery. If you are passionate about decomposing complex technical challenges into straightforward solutions that directly improve the healthcare experience for millions of retirees, we want you on our team.

If you are located in WA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to obtain the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and identify key capabilities and features to incorporate into the technical product
  • Define, prioritize, and provide technical direction for user experience and user interface designs (where applicable) to ensure customer-centric product experiences
  • Create and maintain technical user documentation, ensuring seamless understanding of system flows and product capabilities
  • Create and communicate the product's technical value proposition through internal marketing and promotional materials to drive team alignment and product promotion
  • Decompose highly complex technical and business problems into straightforward technical propositions, defining clear, actionable technical product requirements
  • Influence the prioritization of the technical product backlog and ensure alignment with robust integration testing and automated deployment practices
  • Use enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline technical product management workflows, automate routine tasks, and drive continuous operational efficiency
  • Evaluate emerging trends, product design patterns, and strategic innovations to continuously improve product maturity and delivery

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (such as 7+ years of additional technical product management experience in lieu of a degree)
  • 7+ years of experience in technical product management, program management, or related technology delivery roles
  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex, multi-workstream initiatives with visibility to senior leadership
  • 5+ years of experience translating business strategy into product roadmaps, milestones, and technical requirements
  • 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment across product, engineering, and business teams
  • 3+ years of experience engaging in system architecture, system integration, and system design discussions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Product Manager (POPM), or equivalent Agile/Scrum certification
  • Demonstrated experience using or embedding approved AI, automation, and analytics tools to optimize product delivery workflows
  • Experience in the healthcare sector, particularly within Medicare & Retirement, health insurance, or regulated compliance environments
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a proven track record of aligning multi-disciplinary teams toward a common product vision
