Are you a subject matter expertise using Six Sigma methodology in project management, scope definition, risk identification, methodology and resource allocation or facilitation or in accounting and finance with a desire to learn process improvement methodologies?  Assist us with strategic initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups as a Project Six Sigma Consultant to coordinate and complete projects,  drive performance and results.  You’ll investigate non-standard requests and problems, makes presentations to senior leadership, ensure project documentation is accurate and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.  Pertinent data and facts will be reviewed to identify and solve issues and mitigate risks, prioritize your work load and work on ad hoc projects as assigned.  Finance and accounting background is required and Six Sigma Certification or in process of Certification for Project Management and/or previous experience in a Project Management Office (PMO) is a plus.

As a Finance and accounting Process Improvement Project Consultant / Six Sigma Consultant, you will be driving process improvement projects in the controllership from defining the problem through implementation of solutions and closure of the project with a control plan.   You will work cross functionally in a matrix organization to ensure to ensure impacted areas are assessed, communicated with, change management occurs when necessary and that the process is optimized.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Initially be working on primarily on Optum Billing related projects
  • Able to quickly get up to speed, learn the area and offer insights and improvements and assigned projects
  • Drive projects with a high sense of urgency meeting or exceeding internal or external customer deadlines and expectations
  • Ensure project deliverables are used effectively and only when applicable
  • Report project status to management as per schedule set by management
  • Provide / track both hard and soft benefits to leadership for all projects you are leading

Required Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of project management administration and/or project management experience and/or core accounting experience and/or finance experience
  • Moderate to advanced MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely and to ability to facilitate meetings
  • Demonstrated excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications:         

  • Certified Public Accountant or Six Sigma certification or PMP Certification preferred or in in process 
  • Experience working in a healthcare or pharmacy related field

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
