This Billing and Enrollment Specialist position is responsible for the accurate review and handling of complex enrollment, accounts receivable, billing, and/or electronic eligibility issues or tasks.  This role also includes mentoring team members as a technical expert in all billing and enrollment functions, to include but not limited to error remediation, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures, and coaching.  Individuals in this role may also be required to attend meetings with key business partners both internal and external to help ensure key metrics and service levels are maintained.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Acts as a technical expert for Commercial Billing, Accounts Receivable, Enrollment, and Electronic Eligibility functions (i.e. Help Desk Tickets, SOP and job aid updates, ART-Jira Automation submission)
  • Proactively identifies solutions to non-standard requests
  • Solves moderately complex problems to include but not limited to team questions, escalations, SharePoint requests, and Email questions
  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes and completes work to meet established objectives
  • Drive innovation and team efficiencies (Bright Ideas Program)
  • Review team quality rebuttals and support team remediation plans/initiatives
  • Assist with completion and review of Sarbanes Oxley or Board audits with internal and external customers
  • OJT: Support individuals through the training program and on the floor by providing immediate feedback on work performed. Serve as a subject matter expert to clarify policies and procedures and provide information on observed trends and additional training opportunities
  • Coach and develop team members as needed
  • Back-up or provide support to include, but not limited to
  • Supervisory tasks and/or meetings (i.e. inventory, huddles, resource meetings, etc.)
  • Global Partners or Stateside, as needed
  • Training Department
  • Host/Attend meetings such as, but not limited to, business meetings – huddle, business partner calls, daily KMI Inventory, quality reviews, SOP meetings

Required Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma / GED or above
  • 2+ years experience with Medica Policies and Procedures from enrollments through the billing reconciliation process
  • 1+ years experience in Medica Enrollment, Electronic Eligibility, & Billing operations
  • Experience interpreting data and apply it to billing, enrollment, accounts receivable, and or reconciliation processes
  • Working knowledge of COSMOS, AR:M, UNET/CDB, BRMS, EEMS, EDD/BEFM, ISET applications
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years presenting within a matrixed environment
  • Leadership roles
  • Proven ability to self-direct and monitor complex work types while meeting specified deadlines
  • Intermediate Experience with Excel (sorting, summing, and creating formulas, and V-Look-up)
  • Experience with VISIO and process mapping
  • Proven track record of submitting innovative ideas

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
