  • Direct Reports: 12+ Medical Assistants

As an LVN Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of 12+ MAs and seven clinicians across three high-volume specialties – Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, and ENT. You will also be responsible for performing operational duties as required under the supervision of the Sr. Site Administrator.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise day-to-day operations and optimize workflows for all three specialties
  • Mentor and train teammates on SOPs and best practices. Monitor and evaluate staff performance, provide feedback and support through one-to-one meetings
  • Oversee provider schedules. Ensure optimal access by maintaining scheduling protocols and addressing No-Shows and Cancellations. Closely monitor surgery schedules to ensure block time is utilized
  • Oversee and ensure that all aspects of the High-Level Disinfection (HLD) process are conducted properly and adheres to all OSHA, CDC, and safety guidelines
  • Ensure monthly expiration logs for medications (refrigerated and non-refrigerated) are maintained. Verify medications and vaccine doses for non-licensed teammates
  • Prepare and lead efforts for Practice Health & Safety audits for all three specialties
  • Assist with Quality Metrics, patient care-gap opportunities, and Specialty Access Metric goals
  • Assist in responding to patient emergencies per Emergency Response Protocols (STAT Nurse)
  • Conduct daily stand-ups with teams to evaluate departmental needs and communicate operational updates
  • Participate in all Nurse Leadership regional meetings and facilitate Skills Validation for Medical Assistants during evening hours and/or weekends (selected Saturdays only)

Required Qualifications: 

  • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse program
  • Current California LVN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain at the time of hire
  • 2+ years of experience working as an LVN

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1+ years of supervisory or management experience 
  • I.V. therapy & blood draw certification (need to confirm requirement by site)

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $48,300 to $94,500 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
