This role will measure financial performance metrics for client partnerships, provide validation and guidance for improvement initiatives, and create internal forecasts for bonuses/incentives earned from clients. Success in this role will be dependent on an ability to successfully navigate and influence change across a matrix environment with guidance, quickly adapt to changing priorities, and the ability to clearly articulate business issues with recommended solutions with guidance — in the context of a fast paced and high-growth environment that has a commitment to making health care better for everyone.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partnership of detailed models to forecast, measure, and validate performance improvements for client partnerships 
  • Support operations teams in understanding how their actions will impact the measured results and financial outcomes 
  • Build strong partnerships with Optum project and operations teams and client’s relationship management team through leading monthly performance reviews and ad hoc conversations 
  • Implement process and procedures for the measurement and validation of financial performance metrics 
  • Contribute to project charters by assessing financial performance metrics within the ROI for new projects 
  • Establish and implement financial performance metric audits and testing to ensure results match projections
  • Providing broader support for other operational and strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years of data/analytic/financial modeling (Excel) 
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic working environment with many near term and longterm deliverables (aka strong organizational and time management skills) 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across a matrix environment to drive bonus/incentive opportunities  
  • Executive presence, communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Intermediate proficiency using PowerPoint to concisely communicate ideas 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with SQL and/or database management 
  • Experience in revenue cycle operations or directly supporting operations 
  • Healthcare industry knowledge and/or experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
